Path (pen)
A free outline of straight segments and Bézier curves: silhouettes, trajectories and parts with a complex profile.
How to add
Use the Pen tool (key P): click points, drag handles for a curve. Enter finishes the outline, Esc cancels.
Properties
- Points and handles
- Double-click the outline to edit: move points and shape the curve with handles.
- Closed outline
- A closed path can be filled; an open one has only a stroke.
- Fill and stroke
- Colour, gradient, width, rounding.
- Boolean operations
- Union, subtract, intersect and exclude shapes into one.
Tips
- For a part with a complex profile, draw the outline and extrude it to 3D from the context menu.
- Need holes? Subtract a smaller shape from a larger one with a boolean operation.
