Ammeter
Shows the current in a branch. Connected in series, with minimal resistance.
How to add
In the left Instruments and experiments panel, Electric circuits section: click the element and it appears in the centre of the frame. Place it in a gap of the branch whose current you want to measure.
Properties
- Reading
- The current in amperes appears on the instrument while the circuit runs.
- Angle
- Rotate by 90 degrees.
Tips
- Do not connect an ammeter in parallel with a load: its resistance is almost zero, so it is a short circuit.
- The reading is an absolute value, the current direction is not shown.
