Belt drive
Two pulleys linked by a belt: they turn the same way.
How to add
In 3D mode: Mechanisms → Belt drive.
Properties
- Ratio
- Positive: the pulleys turn the same way.
- R₁ and R₂
- Pulley radii. Their ratio sets the transmission ratio.
- Force
- The maximum transmission force.
Tips
- The pulley with the smaller radius turns faster.
- A belt transmits motion over a distance; gears only when they touch.
