3D spring
An elastic link between two bodies, as in the Spring pendulum.
How to add
In 3D mode open the Mechanisms menu and choose a ready unit, or connect two bodies with a joint from the Parts menu. A ready unit: Spring pendulum.
Properties
- Rest length
- The distance at which the force is zero.
- Stiffness k
- The larger it is, the stiffer the spring.
- Damper d
- Damps oscillation.
- Anchors
- Positions of the ends on bodies A and B.
Tips
- Oscillation period T = 2π√(m/k).
- A hanging chain of hinged links shows another kind of flexible connection.
