Chain drive
Two sprockets linked by a chain: they turn the same way, like on a bicycle.
How to add
In 3D mode: Mechanisms → Chain drive.
Properties
- Ratio
- Positive: the sprockets turn the same way.
- R₁ and R₂
- Sprocket radii.
- Force
- The maximum transmission force.
Tips
- A large driving sprocket and a small driven one increase speed, as on a bicycle.
- A hanging chain of hinged links is a separate ready unit.
